Ian & Sydney's novella
Us at First is a novella in Lindsay Paige's Carolina Rebels series that features the beginning of Ian Rhett's and Sydney Jarvis' relationship when they meet for the first time in an airport as teenagers. The Carolina Rebels hockey romance series is a wonderful series to read, but my personal opinion is that it makes the most sense if you read the books in order. Us at First serves as a prequel to It's Our Time, which releases in June 2017. Lindsay has also included an excerpt to It's Our Time in the Us at First novella. (Score!)
This novella features Ian and Sydney (mainly through high school) as they meet and stumble through a long distance relationship. Lindsay is well-verse in writing fabulous Young Adult romance, so I enjoyed reading the ups and downs of that first intense love relationship that Sydney and Ian have. It is a novella though - so I was left wanting more of their story, but luckily Lindsay doesn't make her readers wait that long as It's Our Time releases in about a month.
I love Lindsay's writing and attention to details. Her couples can be so sweet and considerate of each other, but they are not perfect characters, as they make mistakes, ask for forgiveness, and grow as characters throughout her novels. I really look forward to every Carolina Rebels release that Lindsay publishes! I highly recommend this series!
