Competent ??
This is book 2, so we already know the characters from book 1 but it is now 9 years later. It feel a little flat for me. I don’t like the ‘move forward by misunderstanding’ and saying totally stupid stuff by ‘accident’. Especially while harping on how genius these characters are supposed to be. I ended up finishing because of the series story line and wanting to know but I was fully tired of the main characters long before that. On to book 3

I am rereading the series. The first book is the best, the 2nd book is less, same complaint as above, sections of the story advanced on miscommunication/misunderstanding of main couple, so irritating.
This author knows how to write a really interesting and complex story, so you almost feel like you’ve read 2 books in one, the over arching story is very interesting.
Great read
Such strong women……and men. Great continuation of the story.
Difficult to read…
I’ve read almost all of her books except the last 2 in the challenge series. I love her stories and was sorely disappointed in this book. I loved the story itself but the grammar and tense and how this book was written throughout, made it very difficult to read and stay focused on the story and just enjoy it. I’ve noticed this type of thing, usually in the first chapter or so in the others then it seemed like they smoothed out. It was almost like she was writing partial thoughts and fragments of sentences. Whom ever proof read this needs a new job!
