Warriors: A Vision of Shadows #4: Darkest Night

Siren: Most of the music I like is fairly old, from like the 2010s to about the 90s, although I do like a few 80s (ok, maybe like 5 not counting Micheal Jackson) and consists of alt rock and emo 🖤
And I also like K-Pop, even though I don’t listen to a lot of it, so I’m not totally emo haha
And the occasional new song I hear on the radio, too.

Sunsetsplash let out a wide yawn. She was on the dawn patrol with Specklebranch, Flowerhaze, Swallowstream and her mate, Smokecloud. She marked a tree by the Thunderpath, and yawned again. " Tired?" A voice made her jump and almost tumble into the ivy on her right. Smokecloud was watching her with undisguised mirth. " Don't do that, Smokecloud!" She hissed, forcing her fluffed-up fur to flatten. " You nearly scared me out of my pelt."
" I can see that." Smokecloud licked her on the cheek. Sunsetsplash melted a little bit at her mate's touch, but still pushed him away and padded towards the rest of the patrol. It had been a few sunrises she became his mate, and even though she loved him a lot, he still annoyed her sometimes. " Everything all clear?" Flowerhaze meowed when she met the rest of the patrol. The brown-and-orange tabby she-cat was scratching her claws on an oak tree to sharpen them.
" Yep. All clear." Sunsetsplash nodded. " Good," Swallowstream, leader of the patrol, mewed tersely.
" Let's head back." Sunsetsplash followed her clan through the trees. She noticed Specklebranch padding on Flowerhaze's left, his movements tense. He STILL hadn't forgiven her for whatever it was she had done. Sunsetsplash frowned. " I need to go and do something real quick," She murmured in Smokecloud's ear. The sleek black tom looked curious, but he dipped his head slightly. Sunsetsplash broke away from her mate and joined Specklebranch, walking next to him. She fumbled for the words to ask him what was wrong — he hadn't even done so much as to glance in her direction — when she was saved the trouble.
" What do you want?" He growled. Sunsetsplash frowned. Why was he so grumpy?
" I want to know what's wrong." She meowed. Specklebranch took a moment to answer. " Nothing's wrong." He said simply. He still wasn't looking at her.
" Something's wrong, Specklebranch!" Sunsetsplash cried. " You've been ignoring me for almost a quarter moon, and you won't even LOOK at me!"
Specklebranch looked at her now, with a glare so sharp it could leave a gash in stone.
" Maybe it's YOU, Sunsetsplash." He spat, eyes furious slits. " Maybe it's something YOU'VE done."
" But what did I do?" Sunsetsplash snarled. " I've been nothing but nice to you! We're friends!"
" Not anymore." Specklebranch lashed his tail angrily. " You've chose your side, and I've chose mine."
Sunsetsplash felt like she was hollow, like the air just blew right through her body.
• We...we aren't friends anymore...? • Inside she just felt sadness, but all she wanted to do on the outside was feel the rip of fur under her claws. Maybe brown-and-cream mottled fur...
" I really hate you, Specklebranch. You're such a thorn in my side!" Sunsetsplash gasped when the tom raked his claws across her cheek.
" Then go away! Go away and don't come back! I don't care. Just don't EVER speak to me again." With that, Specklebranch bounded away towards camp, ahead of the patrol. Sunsetsplash stopped walking. Disbelief and sadness and anger battled inside of her, but anger won. " Are you okay, Sunsetsplash?" Smokecloud whispered, rubbing his muzzle against hers. She hissed, " Leave me alone!" at her mate and ran away into the trees. She needed to get as far away from the patrol as possible.
She stopped at the top of the ravine, panting, and turned just in time to see a familiar russet-and-white pelt. " Splashtail!" She called. Finally, someone who would get her! Understand what she was going through. Her sister started at the words at looked up guiltily. " What is it, Sunsetsplash?" She asked. " What are you doing out here?" Sunsetsplash frowned. " I was on patrol, remember?"
" Oh, yeah. Right..." Splashtail clambered up the rocks and sat down beside Sunsetsplash. Her sister smelled...different. The scent of ivy and ferns and bracken were unusually strong, like she had rolled around in them to cover her scent.
" Is something the matter?" Splashtail meowed. She licked Sunsetsplash's cheek quickly. She sighed. " Everything's wrong! Well —" She paused and thought about it, " — mainly with Specklebranch." Sunsetsplash told her sister everything, from Specklebranch ignoring her for the past couple of days and his outburst just now. " Oh...well. Isn't it obvious?" Splashtail meowed matter-of-factly. Sunsetsplash studied her paws.
" What do you mean? I didn't do anything to him!"
Splashtail hesitated. " You kind of did...you're mates with his brother." Sunsetsplash didn't get her sister's point. " So?"
" So, he might be a little protective of him. But don't worry, he'll get over it." Sunsetsplash leaned against her sister, burying her nose into her fur. " I hope so..." She whispered. Her sister rested her chin in between her ears. Sunsetsplash, with her face in her sister's pelt, scented something different. She didn't have ThunderClan scent in her, unless you counted the green scent of undergrowth.
She had RiverClan scent.

Personality:a sweet brave loyal she who can be calm one second and the next raging mad.

Mom:Orangeleaf. A sweet she with a bright orange pelt and amber eyes.
Father:Sweptshadow. A kind yet can be mad and rude tom with a black pelt and unusual gray eyes.
Brother:Curlpaw. A sweet tom with a black pelt and amber eyes. Was killed by a monster.
Sisters:Amberkit. Personality unknown but was a black she with amber eyes.Moonwish. A sweet kind bright orange she with unusual gray eyes.

Mate:Hawktalon. A brown Tom with bright green eyes.
Sons:Browntree. A brown Tom with bright green eyes.Talonwing. A bright orange tom with bright green eyes.Adderpaw. A bright orange tom with unusual gray eyes.

Prologue:
She rolled her eyes. “Sure let’s pretend I like you as a mate, Greenstem.” She said. “Our kits, if they looked like you would be horribly ugly.” Greenstem looked hurt. “And I already told you I like sweptshadow. Not you! So get over it!” She yowled as she stocked off. Greenstem was heartbroken for the next few days. Suddenly the leader, Miststar, came up to her. “Maybe you should talk to him say that your sorry and that you would love to be his mate.” Miststar told her. “I don’t want to.” She responded. “Orangeleaf get over the fact that sweptshadow likes sweet river.” Miststars voice softened. Orangeleaf looked lived at that comment. “No I will never ever! I love him and even if he mates sweetriver then who cares I just don’t want to be with Greenstem who’s a jerk and brags about everything!” Orangeleaf stormed away. Miststar was shocked at the sudden outburst. Orangeleaf couldn’t talk to her leader that way but she didn’t care. And as she was storming away, she muttered, “Someday they’ll see.”

Chapter one:
Orangeleaf nuzzled dawnfur as she was screeching in pain. “Think about all the fun you’ll have with your kits. And there Hawktalons kits! Sweetriver and Greenstems kit.” Her mother said greenstems name as if he were a horrible monster trying to swallow their camp up. But she didn’t notice. She was to busy felling the rushes of pain. After awhile, her birth was done. But there was a horrible part to it. She had to be rushed with herbs and everything because her birth was not a very good one. There had been more blood then any kit delivery had ever had. And to think it was her second litter not even four kits! Just three that’s it but it didn’t go well. She was just glad her kits were alive. Dawnfur knew how lucky she was to be alive. And in many other attacks,that most of the strongest cat didn’t survive she got only a few scratches. She was happy she was lucky. And her nickname was ‘Lucky Dawnfur.’
