‘Maxine Morrey writes the most gorgeous heroes’ Jules Wake, author of Covent Garden in the Snow
About the author
Maxine has wanted to be a writer for as long as she can remember and wrote her first (very short) book for school when she was ten.
As time went by, she continued to write, but 'normal' work often got in the way. She has written articles on a variety of subjects, as well as a local history book on Brighton. However, novels are her first love.
In August 2015, she won Harper Collins/Carina UK's 'Write Christmas' competition with her first romantic comedy, 'Winter's Fairytale'.
Maxine lives on the south coast of England, and when not wrangling with words loves to read, sew and listen to podcasts. Being a fan of tea and cake, she can (should!) also be found doing something vaguely physical at the gym.

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
In the run-up to Christmas, a few months after being jilted at the altar, Izzy Bryant becomes stranded by snowfall miles from home, with the only one person able to offer her shelter: Rob, the best man at her aborted wedding. The spirited Izzy and chivalrous Rob are both convincing, likeable characters—their dialogue is consistently sparky and witty—and Maxine Morrey creates a warm, Christmassy tone throughout the story. Peppered with a few engaging twists, this is a great book to cosy up with on a winter’s night.

From the first page, I was hooked. The story kept pulling at my heart strings. The characters and situations are so fun, this will be a book I read every Christmas season.
This is my favorite of all her books
I’ve read this book 3 times now it’s a wonderful romance with some real life issues that are handled with great care. Great story happy ending and a pup. Highly recommend this book.
Utterly charming
I don't know why I adored this so much, but I did. The characters are so likable and their interactions so real--you just could really cheer for them, I guess.
