Publisher Description
Cannon West left his hockey playing days behind to care for his dying wife but has since found success on the other side of the bench. Now, as the youngest head coach in league history, he’s hoping to lead the Pittsburgh Titans to a winning season. The last thing he’s looking for is a relationship, but life sometimes takes us in another direction.
The Pittsburgh Titans are still working to move on from the tragic plane crash that forever changed the landscape of their organization. Having lost my wife, I know all about grief and the guilt of survival which makes me uniquely equipped to take this team to the next level. From the very first time I stepped inside the Titans’ arena, I knew I was exactly where I needed to be.
New to town, I’m still establishing my routine, but I have the most important aspect under control—the coffee shop where I stop on my way to the arena every morning. A strong cup of java and the gorgeous manager who I can’t help but chat up is quickly becoming my favorite way to start the day. But no matter how much I enjoy the blush that stains Ava Cavanaugh’s cheeks with my admittedly awkward attempt at flirting, I know it will never be more than brazen banter with a new friend. My job consumes almost all my time, and I know firsthand what that level of commitment can do to a relationship.
That doesn’t mean I’m not open to some fun. My career comes first, but Ava understands my boundaries. The only problem is that once I give into her temptation, the rules I set for myself become blurred, and my mixed signals hurt Ava—the one thing I promised I wouldn’t do. I’ve put myself in what seems to be an untenable situation, but I’ve faced those before. Now I need to find the strength to move past my fears, or risk losing my second chance at love with the woman who has stolen my heart.

All the feels
Each time I pick a book up in this series I’m falling head over heels in love and that read becomes my favourite in the series and once again I’m saying Cannon West and Ava Cavanaugh’s journey is my favourite story so far but this time I’m going one better by saying this is one of my favourite reads of 2023!! Cannon left his hockey career behind when he found out his wife was dying, he never thought he would get back in the game but now he finds himself as head coach of The Pittsburgh Titans and he is loving life once again. He isn’t looking for love or a relationship but when he meets Ava he suddenly realises he wants more and she is the woman he wants in his life. Fate works in mysterious ways and it seems fate is determined to put this couple together so has Cannon been given a second chance with love……one click to find out. I’m not sure I have the words to do this book justice, I swooned and I fell hard and fast as I watched Cannon start to live life to the fullest once again. I was captivated and drawn in from the first few pages and there was no putting down until I had read the final line and even then I still wanted more from this couple. I love the camaraderie this team have and I love watching each one of them find love and HEA’s when they least expect it. Cannon is a perfect addition to the Pittsburgh Titans Series
Love the Titan Team
Cannon is a conundrum at times. Charismatic, personable and charming. A work focused individual with a favouritism for coffee at a certain venue, well maybe it’s the barista he fancies. Cannon’s story is full of wit and endearing qualities. A very enjoyable read.
Sports Romance
I love it when I pick up a book and it flows so well I don’t even know what time it is or how far along I am in the book. The next thing you know, I’m nearly finished and my family is expecting dinner. Oh well…it was a little late today.
These books are like episodes in a tv series where each character from the team is getting their own story told. In this edition, it’s the head coach Cannon who’s only been with the team a short time. He used to play hockey, but stepped away to care for his terminally ill wife. Now he is back, and is the youngest coach in the league, and he’s ecstatic to get them all the way to the cup. First things first though, he needs his coffee every morning. Or maybe it’s that he needs to see a certain barista to start his day off right. A little flirting and good coffee, what more could he want.
It was fun watching this couple develop. They took things slow and didn’t place unnecessary expectations on each other. They made the most of the limited time they had together. Just so happens, the more time they did, the more they got to know each other, the more they made time to be together. But it gets confusing when lines are crossed and what started out as good times, now feelings are involved and it’s going into murky territory. There is a little age gap between them, which seems to be the norm nowadays with romances, and they solve their problems maturely and without the silly dramatics.
It was also exciting to read about Hendrix, who’s book is up next and I feel there will be at least one more after that. Maybe Bain will get to tell his story. My fingers are crossed we get loads more from this team.
