I really love that this book is stand alone yet linked so well with the other fallen crest series tijan has written as well as other stand alone books!
I Was hooked from the beginning until the end.
I Loved getting to know yet another character in the group from This captivating intriguing setting while still seeing and following characters we already know !
Tijan has a tendency to write about damaged people and how they navigate and survive their worlds but makes them so relatable and leaves me hanging for more. I love seeing how each of the characters evolve and change and grow and how love can be the catalyst for that, and yet they still remain them which again makes it relatable.
I’m looking forward to reading book 2 in this series and also where else tijan can take us within the fallen crest and Rousseau world !

So draining reading this ... compared to the Fallen Crest series and Channing’s story this just felt slow and a little boring. Not enough drama in my opinion. And the whole “secret” that only Drew knows but not her crew - so disappointed that we didn’t get a hint as to what it was . Not sure if I want to get the next book in the series.

Best book by Tijan yet but I wish I knew I should have read "the boy I grew up with first" because it's got the lead characters older brother in it and his story which would be better to read before this.
