The fifth addictive standalone novel in C.J. Duggan's sassy and sexy HEART OF THE CITY series from the internationally bestselling author of New York Nights, Paris Lights and London Bound.
Hollywood isn't all sunglasses and autographs.
Aussie girl Abby Taylor is heading for the hills - the Hollywood Hills. All she has to do first is exorcise some old demons, namely Cassie Carmichael, the character she's been playing on Australia's number one television drama for the past three years.
Abby is in desperate need of a change. With a new city, new friends and a sweet new condo in West Hollywood, it's time to take her career to the next level. But with disastrous auditions and countless rejections, Abby is going to need to numb the pain in the hope that her next big break comes along soon, and it does. She just never dreamed that her big break would be in the form of waiting tables at one of the hottest nightspots on the strip.
Action-packed late nights and VIP parties are a sure distraction, but nothing distracts her quite like her brooding new boss, the infuriating Jay Davis. Suddenly living the dream takes on a whole new meaning, but when something in Jay's past is revealed, Abby has to question, who is the greatest actor of them all?
In the land of broken dreams, all Abby can do is hope that hers is not going to be one of them.
A fun, sexy and light-hearted romance from the addictive HEART OF THE CITY SERIES that will have you falling in love with the hilarious Abby, the handsome Jay and Hollywood itself!

This book was fantastic. I was unable to put it down. Great story line that showcases Australian actors and the challenges they face when making it in Hollywood. A fabulous and fun read!!
This is a great read! I loved how Abby and Jay seem to have a love/hate kind of relationship.
Abby is a starlet in Australia on ‘Ships to Sea’ but when she’s involved in a scandal with her co star, it’s clear that it’s a boy’s club so they side with him and they fire her. She’s labelled as the home wrecker. Her manager decides its time to try LA.
She arrives thinking her friend Billie is picking her up but her neighbour Jay does. He’s very opinionated on actors and their lifestyle and it’s obvious he that doesn’t seem to like her. That’s fine with her because despite him being super hot, she doesn’t really like him either.
She struggles to land any job in LA and soon realises that being a nobody here in LA is really hard work.
Of course in true aussie spirit her friends Billie and once arch nemesis Sienna help her adjust to life in LA. Along the way she begins to fall for Jay but is his secret something she can forgive him for.
I really enjoyed this lighthearted super fun read.
CJ has written a fabulous story that’ll have you turning the pages to see whether or not Jay and Abby get their HEA.

Adored this book!
This is the first book in C.J's 'heart of the city' series I've read and I'm hooked!!
When leading Australian actress Abby from 'ships to sea' is caught in a scandal with her on screen and off screen lover not only is she heart broken but the boys club protect him and fire her!
Her manager tells her it's time to fly, head to L.A and break into becoming the next big actress.
From being somebody to then becoming a nobody is super hard for Abby. She has no one to push her, nothing is going right- trying out for parts, getting a day job that ends exceptionally bad, being rejected even for non speaking parts Abby feels like it's time to go home.
In true Australian fashion there are a few people that stand by her side, billie her best friend and once arch nemesis sienna and the totally unexpected boy next door Jay. Only jay isn't just boy next door, he's actually Hollywood royalty.
After a set up by her friends does Abby's luck finally turn around, can she forgive the charming and alluring man next door?
I really really hope there's a follow on from this story to see what happens with Abby next! Awesome book x
