Publisher Description
With so many strong personalities living in one building, tensions are bound to flare up sometimes. When Sydney pushes Crowmon too far, they learn that it's a very bad idea to mock a god. Their trivial arguments turn nasty and he casts a spell that will result in more than just bruised egos.
During one of their missions, the squad faces a target that's far too strong and well-armored for them to take down. They will need to rely on Alex to raise something strong enough to defeat it. Agent Steel and his wife have temporarily joined the team during this job. As tests go, this one is a doozy.
Alex comes face to face with Irene Dawson again and an unexpected ally comes to her aid. Everyone has a breaking point and each new trauma is pushing Alex closer to hers. Seeing her friends finding their mates and being so happy can only add to her growing misery.

Loving this story!
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I love these books! They are just getting better as they go along. We are getting to see the individual personalities of the team members shining through as well as the team continuing to bond together as family. Alex is showing just what she is capable of as a necromancer, she had definitely surpassed Lexi!
Heath Franko and Irene Dawson both return to the story and it was nice to see Heath actually redeem himself somewhat. But what will these new spells mean for Alex?
Crowmon has finally had enough of the clown jokes and gets his own back with hilarious results.
Harlan and Gedniah - the mates of Syd and Brynn - have definitely become a part of the team, but when will Alex and Jax get their chance at claiming each other as true mates? Although Fate has indicated that it would be disastrous for Alex and Jax to be together, will they eventually get their HEA in the real world not just in the dream world? And what is this new presence that has hold of Alex?
When will the creatures from the other dimensions stop being drawn to the world of the Shifter Squad? Hopefully the team will discover who/what is causing it and how to stop it.
I am looking forward to all these questions being answered in the last two books of the series. Like the other series written by J C Diem this one will definitely be on my read again list.
