**SOON TO BE A TV SERIES STARRING CHRIS PRATT**
'Carr writes both from the gut and a seemingly infinite reservoir of knowledge in the methods of human combat. Loved it!' Chris Hauty, bestselling author of Deep State
Deep in the wilds of Siberia, a woman is on the run, pursued by a man harboring secrets – a man intent on killing her.
Half a world away, James Reece is recovering from brain surgery in the Montana wilderness, slowly putting his life back together with the help of investigative journalist Katie Buranek and his longtime friend and SEAL teammate Raife Hastings.
Unbeknown to them, the Russian mafia has set their sights on Reece in a deadly game of cat and mouse.
In his most visceral and heart-pounding thriller yet, Jack Carr explores the darkest instincts of humanity through the eyes of a man who has seen both the best and the worst of it.
Praise for Jack Carr:
'This is seriously good . . . the suspense is unrelenting, and the tradecraft is so authentic the government will probably ban it – so read it while you can!' Lee Child
'With a particular line in authentic tradecraft, this fabulously unrelenting thrill-ride was a struggle to put down' Mark Dawson
'Gritty, raw and brilliant!' Tom Marcus
‘So powerful, so pulse-pounding, so well-written – rarely do you read a debut novel this damn good’ Brad Thor
'A powerful, thoughtful, realistic, at times terrifying thriller that I could not put down. A terrific addition to the genre, Jack Carr and his alter-ego protagonist, James Reece, continue to blow me away' Mark Greaney

Wow
Jack Carr is one of my favorite action packed authors. Talk about an adventure. Wow what a read! Read his books and see for yourself. Can’t wait to start the next one.
Better than Netflix
Author
American. Former Navy SEAL turned writer. This is the third in a series involving ex-Navy SEAL (surprise, surprise) turned CIA contractor Jack Reece, who has racked up an impressive body count so far.
In brief
Jack's chillin' on the Montana property of his bestie (for the moment anyway, his friends tend to have short half-lives) and the bestie's uber-rich politically connected gun-crazy family. Wouldn't you know it, shortly after his GF-in-waiting rocks up and officially becomes GF, Russian mafia bad guys arrive to exterminate him and the aforementioned bestie. No way, dude. A rogue CIA guy who cancelled the ticket of our boy's Dad back in the day is behind it, but there's also a psychopathic Russian intelligence dude with a penchant for ransacking the mineral resources of the Central African Republic and hunting humans in the wilds of Siberia (you know the type), as well as some real CIA guys, and Special Forces, of course. Oh, and a dodgy White House Chief of Staff in cahoots with a highly placed lobbyist inside the Beltway who is actually a Russian sleeper. Yada, yada featuring guns, bombs, techno weapons with impossible acronyms, crossbows, an actual bow and arrow too! Yada, yada, more of the same, plus big black redactions here and there (Mr Carr has to submit his work to Dept of Defence censors before publication, or so he says). The end.
Writing
Plot driven fiction with action from start to finish. Tom Clancy-like attention to technical detail regarding equipment, whether weapons or military support kind (including a glossary at the end if you're interested).
Bottom line
Having read the first two in the series, I vowed not to go back for more of the same from Mr Carr, but it was a rainy afternoon, and I prefer reading to streaming video. Book 4 is due out mid-2021.
