After Andrea Leighton-Hughes rescues Jace Morgan from bullies, the two 17-year-olds bond over their love of music and Coney Island. Their budding romance survives Jace's discovery that Andrea is the daughter of an elite Manhattan businessman, while he and his orphaned brothers, all musicians, scrape by in the Bronx. Andrea renounces her family wealth to go on the road with Jace and his bros when their band is on tour. For a time, all is bliss, but Jace's oldest brother, Dean, worries that Jace—who can't sing unless Andrea is watching—is using her as a crutch. To break up the couple, he convinces Andrea that Jace is unfaithful. Eight years later, Andrea, now a workaholic businesswoman, reunites with Reid Shilling, the man her family always wanted her to marry. Worth reading
The start sounded similar to others I have read but I’m glad I persisted. The writing and thus the tone improved. It is nice when the story continues on past the marriage and we get a glimpse of how their lives continued on despite the past.
