"Something wrong, sweetheart?" he asked, feigning innocence.
Blue fire glared up at him. "I would like to shoot you now."
The threat was so unexpected and said with such venom, he couldn't help but laugh. "I'd love to see you try."
"I'll more than try." She sounded so confident. Too bad she didn't stand a chance.
"Hmm." He settled more heavily on her by stretching his legs alongside hers and going to his elbows on either side of her head. Danger instincts flared through his brain while heat licked through his veins. "And then what?"
Her glare cooled as her gaze dropped to his lips. "I would run." Some of her earlier confidence seemed to have disappeared. Smart woman.
He toyed with the loose strand of her hair lying beside his hand. "Probably a good idea considering you'd miss and I'd be chasing you. Can you do me a favor, though?"
She blinked up at him. "What?"
"Try not to run in circles. It takes the fun out of things."

A wonderful second story!
Tom has been trained by his father from a very young age to be the perfect soldier and assassin. After questioning some of the goings on at the CRF, Tom is put on "babysitting" duty. He is intrigued by the woman he has seen broken and battered, and with their cabin hidden in the woods, treats her more as a person than an asset.
Amelia is the pet experiment for much of the CRF research. To keep her from being found by the CRF's latest recruit, she is moved to Tom's remote cabin. She is broken, battered and tortured, but can she learn to trust the man who gives her the freedoms she has only dreamt of?
Feeling begin to grow between each, but do they dare trust those feelings? Or has he done so much damage that getting involved will only risk them both further?
Forbidden Bonds continues the story in Lexi's Immortal Curse Series. It kept me on interested and on the edge of my seat as I read it. I grow even more enamored of this story the more I read. Cannot wait to see what happens next!

I fell in love with the first book of this series and couldn't wait to jump into this one, and I'm thrilled to say it was as good as the first. You really have to read these in order, I can't imagine starting with this one, there's too much in the first book leading to this one.
This one had me wrapped from page 1, I absolutely love all the characters in these books, and I love the fact that this author is carrying these stories on through these books and the characters staying an important part all the way through. This story focuses on Tom who has lived his life to please his dad, but when he receives a punishment and has to babysit an asset things start changing for Tom really quick. When everything he thought he knew gets turned upside down and he finds himself on the run with the asset he was supposed to be guarding, Tom's life changes in ways he never thought.
I can not wait till the next books in this series, this does not end in a cliffhanger for Tom, but there is still a lot of story to be told for all of the characters in this book. I love this author's writing style and the flow was perfect.

I just love this series so far! So creative and detailed, with just the right amount of suspense, tension, and love. You will not regret buying the first book or this one! I'm going to try to not think about how long it will be before the next one is released... or maybe just reread these two! Awesome!
