Intense & Enjoyable
It was an enjoyable story especially for the first book in a new series. Introducing new characters, exploring new places, and focusing the story on the Guilds…I think it was a great move since the Guilds are also important and kind of mysterious. If you’re new, you can read this without reading the Ena series, but if you want to get a better reading experience and want to understand the world of Ilbrea more then start by reading the Ena series first. I will never get tired of reading about the Ilbrea world. I can’t wait to see the characters in this book continuing their journey again in the sequel, I’m looking forward to read more. I need to know what will Ena do next and what happen to Adrial after the ending.

I just finished Inker and Crown, and wow—there is so much to unpack from the very first chapter. One of my favorite aspects of the book is the six-person narrative. It gives readers a much broader perspective of everything happening across Ilbrea rather than limiting the story to a single location or viewpoint. It’s a brilliant storytelling choice that makes the world feel larger, richer, and more alive.
Megan O’Russell continues to expand the world of Ilbrea in such an engaging way that I find myself completely immersed in every new corner of it. The characters, the interconnected storylines, and the depth of the world-building kept me hooked from beginning to end.
I give Inker and Crown 5 stars without hesitation. I am absolutely obsessed with the world of Ilbrea and can’t wait to see where the story goes next!

It was okay.
I’ll be quite honest, I was underwhelmed when it came to this book. I expected more from O’Russel.
