I liked the story
I loved the story but there were more than a few writing errors that made it hard to understand at times.
Misogynistic tones throughout
Horribly sexist and demeaning towards women. Crude and violent inner dialogue from "Vaughn"
Gave me the ick!
I flew through this book in a day, so I’ll give it credit for being an easy, fast read. Unfortunately, that’s about where the positives ended for me.
I struggled to connect with either main character. The male lead came across as arrogant, driven almost entirely by lust, and fueled by anger for most of the story. The female lead was frustratingly insecure and lacked the backbone to stand up for herself. By chapter three, they were already hooking up, and it felt like she constantly gave in without much thought or self-respect.
The writing also felt very much like it was from a man’s perspective. The descriptions were overly focused on the female body and were so sexually graphic that, at times, they made me uncomfortable rather than adding anything meaningful to the story.
While the pacing kept me turning the pages, I never became invested in the romance or the characters. It was easy to read, but surprisingly difficult to enjoy.
Oh.. and not to mention that when it finally got interesting it leaves you on a cliffhanger tempting to you buy the next book and the next. Just a waste of time and money in my opinion.
