Publisher Description
Kate James knows exactly what she wants: a mature, wise, ambitious and successful life partner. The hot guy with the gorgeous laugh at the bar is none of these things. Not with that t-shirt, unkempt hair, and scruff of a beard. And although his handsomness is unquestionable, he is definitely not the man for her.
Isaac Anson is out for one last drink before getting married…to his job. Years after walking away from baseball, his team has called him home. As the new manager of the Mantas he’ll only have room in his life for two things: baseball and his daughter. The last thing he needs is a distraction like the beautiful woman two tables down with the sexiest voice he’s ever heard.
The Mantas have a problem. New owner Eli Stirling has thrown everything into chaos. With the front office, players, and even the parking lot attendants ready to revolt, he hires the best corporate doctor around, bringing Kate and a freshly shaven Isaac together. All Kate’s excuses not to pursue Isaac are gone except for one pesky problem: he’s now her co-worker. And with the object of Isaac’s desires never more than a few feet away, it’s going to be torture resisting what he really wants.

Good read
A fairly new author for me. This is the 2nd book in the Out of Left Field series. I haven’t read any previous mantis Baseball books but the description said you didn’t need to. I enjoyed the first book and this although different still had some common ground. This story revolves around Isaac and Kate and it was lovely. They currently live an ‘okay’ life, not too good or bad, but when they meet each other everything feels right. Their love story is slow burn with some drama and I look forward to more.

Goodness…
This book is so godawful boring. I had to stop reading a bit past the half way mark because there’s just nothing there
It’s lust at first sight for these two
It’s lust at first sight for these two soon-to-be coworkers. And once they learn that they’ll be working together, the brakes slam on. That made for a very slow burn romance between Kate and Isaac, but once they get comfortable with where they’re going, plenty of spice gets added. On a side note, I was a little confused at first by the chapters from some of the secondary character’s viewpoints. However, it makes perfect sense now that I understand the family dynamic within the team, and I can’t wait to read more.
