A lovely romance
Will their differences keep them apart ...
I have read none in this series but when I saw the blurb, I definitely could not pass this one.
Theodosia is not the usual ton’s lady, she has no real interest in courtship despite her lofty birth, she even finds that books more reliable than men to her opinion. Yet when she eavesdrops a discussion she should never have come upon, she discovers deceit is a small word to hide the ugly deeds behind her family’s wealth. So she turns herself in a knight, scourge of those praying on unfortunate souls because of their skin color.
Samuel is one of the lucky fellow who had been able to create a good life for himself even if most of society shuns him for his skin’s shade. As a titled man illegitimate offspring, he learned early to fend for himself and fight for his rights.
In some way, as a man, he has more voice to express his heart desire or his thoughts than a woman even if born in the top sphere of the city.
When they meet, it is instant attraction, for once a man spikes Theodosia’s pulse, all the while Samuel feels he has met a woman who will alter his future.
They understand one another as one’s plight is the other’s battle, but love might not be enough when force they have no control over threatens to tear them apart.
Yet, they have so much to overcome as their different of rank is only one minor impediment.
A lovely tale of two persons who will have to fight society’s dictates and strictures.
