As seen on TV - DEXTER: NEW BLOOD - major new drama
'The freshest, most terrifying creations you are ever likely to meet (and live to tell about)' Robert Crais
Dexter Morgan has burned the candle at both ends for many years. Blood spatter analyst . . . husband . . . father . . . serial killer. And now, for the first time, his world has truly collapsed. Dexter is arrested on charges of murder. He has lost everything - including his wife, his kids, and the loyalty of his sister.
Now completely alone, Dexter faces a murder charge (for a crime . . . ironically . . . he did not actually commit). His only chance for freedom lies with his brother, Brian, who has a dark plan to prove Dexter's innocence. But the stakes are deadly, and the epic showdown that lies in Dexter's path may lead, once and for all, to his demise.
Jeff Lindsay's trademark devilish wit and cutting satire have never been sharper. Dexter Is Dead marks the end of a beloved series, but is also Dexter's most satisfying and suspenseful outing yet.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
The action of Lindsay's downbeat eighth and final Dexter Morgan novel picks up right after the over-the-top ending of the previous book, 2013's Dexter's Final Cut, which left Dexter, a serial killer who targets other killers, locked in a tiny prison cell. For a change, he isn't guilty this time, despite a damning set of circumstances. Dexter was found "in flagrante sangre" with the bodies of his wife, Rita, and actor Robert Chase at the crime scene, where his scantily clad 12-year-old adopted daughter, Astor, was also present. Although Dexter's charged with double murder and considered a pedophile, Chase actually killed Rita, only to be killed by Astor in turn. Dexter is left in legal limbo for weeks, seemingly abandoned by everyone, including his sister, Deborah, who visits only to get him to sign over custody of his children to her. Many readers will struggle to sympathize with this antihero, and the series's resolution won't satisfy all fans. Author tour.

Disappointing end to a great series of books
Having been hooked on Dexter since the first book I've got each new book on day one and read it. After the agonising wait for Dexter is Dead I couldn't wait to get stuck in however by about chapter 3 I was really wishing I was still waiting.
This books shows the complete unraveling of a great character through poor writings The Dexter portrayed is weak and poorly written almost as if the author was so fed up he just 'phoned this one in'. As for the ending, well I never though I say it but the TV show for all its final season/episode faults blew this book out of the water!
Tragic ending to an amazing original series. However having said all that... You've still got to read it!
