"Child's best for some time…with detective-story and romcom elements (even sly humour) on top of the psychological duels and set-piece violence." (Sunday Times)

Jack Reacher has no place to go, and all the time in the world to get there.

A remote railroad stop on the prairie with the curious name of Mother's Rest seems perfect for an aimless one-day stopover. He expects to find a lonely pioneer tombstone in a sea of nearly-ripe wheat.

Instead there is a woman waiting for a missing colleague, a cryptic note about two hundred deaths, and a small town full of silent, watchful people.

Reacher’s one-day stopover turns into an open-ended quest leading to the most hidden reaches of the internet, and right into the nightmare heart of darkness.

Although the Jack Reacher novels can be read in any order, Make Me is 20th in the series.

Pre-ordered because I can never wait for a new Jack Reacher, but this did not feel like a new one.
Very similar to earlier storylines and with a character a memorable and unforgettable as Reacher, that is a problem.
Also still struggling to get the diminutive Mr Cruise out of my head especially when the storyline refers to Reachers imposing size and presence..... The bad guys always think twice... Well the big guys wouldn't think twice about facing down Tiny Tom Cruise.
Afraid the sell out to make the films appears to have been the start of the rot and I don't currently feel inclined to wait with bated breath for the next Reacher book.

Make Me

New Jack Reacher novel, fast paced, read a minute. Can't fault the authors storytelling technique. In fact love the authors storytelling! This novel didn't disappoint on that front. It did disappoint, however, in the storyline. A bit reflective of others, but without the depth. Bad guys not bad enough and their comeuppance too swift! They do need to know they have been Reachered!

Not a bad read

Was ok, kept me interested, but of a lame ending, (spoiler) would have thought the ringleader baddie should have been shot in the legs and fed to the pigs alive! And what happened the the tied up bad guys?
Bring on the next one.
