APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
When you’ve written nearly two dozen best-selling novels, your craft tends to be very much honed so it’s no surprise that this domestic thriller from veteran English author Parks is an enthralling read. An enigmatic female bigamist has disappeared and foul play is suspected by the police: “It’s always the husband,” we’re told. “Trickier when there are two though.” The book is a sequel to 2021’s Both Of You but so deft is the storytelling, it’s entirely possible to read it without realising this—it absolutely works as a standalone novel. Parks’ characterisation is typically strong here so your heart will break for puppyish 12-year-old Seb, who refuses to believe his step-mum is dead. Add to the mix a corkscrewing narrative that culminates in a tense chase scene and what more can you ask for?

Fantastic follow up
How does the author think of the storylines? This book is packed with twists. Makes you want to read it all the time.
Impatient to read, but didn’t want it to end!
I was pleasantly surprised to learn about this sequel to “Both of You” and couldn’t wait to read it whilst travelling around France.
I was hooked and although I guessed what was happening quite early on, I really enjoyed reading this book and didn’t want it to end. End though it must.
Thank you, Adele (and team) for this sequel, with an unexpected and happier ending than I’d imagined - I’m not a fan of sad endings or even worse, those that leave you hanging!
