Good mix of dark 40k space marine stories
Great compilation
The heresy series would probably benefit from many more short story collections as sometimes the novels can be a bit stretched for smaller stories. This is a great collection (though technically most occur well before the Heresy and so probably should be a prequel series). Particularly enjoyed the last church - which has no fighting or daemons just an atheist and priest setting out their stall in this first secular then ultra religious dark future. Very clever.

I've got this in paperback and I'm a massive black library fan anyway but the short stories are brilliant by some of the best sci fi writers around!
