About the author
Bernard Cornwell worked for BBC Television for seven years, mostly as a producer on the Nationwide programme, before taking charge of the Current Affairs department in Northern Ireland. In 1978 he became editor of Thames Television’s Thames at Six. Married to an American, he now lives in the United States.

A Slow start
I enjoyed this book in the end and will definitely buy book 2. However there were times early on that I nearly give up on it. TIP Stick with it.
Halfway through the book I was enjoying it and regarded as a four-star read. However the second half was brilliant and I had trouble putting it down. Definitely recommended...
The last kingdom
