Exile (Unabridged‪)‬

Ps. So. Keefe. For. EVER!!

Two years passed. The battle at Loamnore came and went. Keefe was no longer unconscious, but everyone was worried about him. Eventually the Council came up with a “solution.”
They called everyone together and sat them down. Then they brought in—
“Astrid?” Tam asked, confused.
Her entire face lit up the whole room. “You remember me.”
Tam nodded. “I don’t know anyone else who has hair like yours.”
Astrid blushed.
“Alright you too, stop flirting so we can move on,” Fitz said seriously. Tam glared at him and Astrid huffed under her breath.
Councilor Emery nodded. “Tam, come forward.”
Tam stepped forward while one of the Councilors carefully took a plain silver band of metal and two matching wrist cuffs out of a velvet box.
Astrid’s eyes widened. “You made me make that for this?!”
“It’s absolutely necessary,” Emery replied.
“I don’t care,” Astrid replied. “You’re evil.”
“We’re not evil,” Emery replied.
“Yeah you are,” she snapped back. “You are literally putting an Ability Restrictor on Tam.”
Sophie gasped. Fitz growled. Dex clenched his fists.
Alina pulled out the metal bands and placed them on Tam’s wrists and around his forehead.
“No!” Linh shouted. She rushed to her brother’s side and tried to steady him, but he couldn’t do anything. His head felt woozy with a headache, and he couldn’t even feel the rest of his body.
“I did what had to be done,” Alina replied smoothly. “I—”
Astrid walked right up to her and slapped her across the face and punched her on the bridge of her nose. Then she whistled sharply and grabbed Tam’s hand. She pulled out a small home crystal and said, “Coming?”
A troll grabbed onto Astrid’s arm, so everyone else grabbed some part of Tam. Then they glittered away.

THE FIRST I LOVE YOU

Sophie was sitting on the edge of her bed, trying and failing to study for the Foxfire Midterms. She propped her head in her hands, and rubbed her eyes. And then her bedroom door shut. She looked up and saw Keefe, standing inside her room, the door closed behind him.
“Hey.” He said, walking over to her. Sophie stood up and hugged her boyfriend. He hugged her back and kissed the top of her head. She tilted her head up to look at him. And then she kissed him. She pulled away and then smiled.
“I have something for you.” She said and turned to her bedside table. She opened the top drawer, and pulled out a brand new iPhone that she had got from the Forbidden Cities.
“What’s that?” Keefe asked, pointing to it.
“It’s called a phone. They’re basically an Imparter that plays music and other stuff.” She said and scrolled through Apple Music, till she found the playlist she had made the night before.
“And human music is different.” She said and hit the first song, “that way” by Tate McRae and put the phone down on the bed. She wrapped her arms around Keefe’s neck and they swayed together, their noses inches apart. They stayed like that for a long time.

TWO MONTHS LATER

Sophie was nervous-excited. Her first date with Keefe. She walked into her closet, and began to attempt to find a dress. And then she found it. It was a long red gown that fit her body perfectly, and it clung to her like snakeskin. Spaghetti straps (A/N the dress code, Sophie!) and it was beaded. She left her hair loose, and put on some red stilettos which she could walk in now. And then she was ready.

Keefe was waiting for her outside her door, and Ro was grinning wolfishly behind him.
“I want to show you something.” Keefe said and offered his hand. Sophie took it. They walked down the stairs and Grady shot them a weak smile. Sophie smiled back. ~TIME SKIP ~

Keefe took her to a little forested clearing where somebody (maybe Flori?) had put Bluetooth speakers (from the Forbidden Cities??) in the trees. And then he pressed play on a modified Imparter. And then music came on. Romantic music. Ro was painting her nails on a rock 200 feet away. And then Sophie’s favorite song came on. “Jail Time” by Chloe Adams. And then Sophie kissed Keefe. Keefe kissed her back and wrapped his arms around her waist. And when they pulled away Sophie was smiling.
And then she backed away.
“I have something to show you, too.” Sophie said, and unzipped the back of her dress (A/N no, not that!) she dropped the dress and revealed black leggings and a beige crop top. And then Keefe smiled. It was they’re dancing outfit. He was wearing his under his clothes too. And then they began their dance routine to “The Arena” by Lindsey Stirling (A/N watch the Arena music video and you’ll see it).
“I love you.” Sophie said, and looked Keefe straight in the eye.
“I love you, too.” Keefe said and kissed her.
