Publisher Description
In the small town of River Black, Texas, sits the Triple C—a working cattle ranch that sustains the town. But it also holds painful memories and shocking secrets for the Cavanaugh brothers....
When the Cavanaugh brothers return home for their father’s funeral, they discover unexpected evidence of the old man’s surprising double life—a son named Blue, who wants the Triple C Ranch as much as they do. The eldest son, Deacon, a wealthy businessman who couldn’t wait to leave the ranch and move on with his life, is looking to use his powerful connections to stop Blue at any cost. He never expected the ranch’s forewoman, Mackenzie Byrd, to get in his way.
Mac knows Deacon means to destroy the ranch and therefore destroy her livelihood. But as the two battle for control, their attraction builds. Now Deacon is faced with the choice of a lifetime: Take down the Triple C to feed his need for revenge, or embrace the love of the one person who has broken down every barrier to his heart.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
In the fourth and final Cavanaugh Brothers contemporary (after Brash), set in tiny River Black, Tex., Wright brings the series to a satisfying conclusion. In the first volume it was revealed that ranch hand Blue Perez is the half-sibling of the three Cavanaugh brothers, but they're not willing to share ownership of the Triple C Ranch (which supposedly has cattle, though they never appear on the page). Despite Blue's troubles, Emily Shiver is nothing but grateful when he comes to her defense at the local bar. Though she tries to resist the chaos that is the hallmark of the Triple C, she is drawn to the heart of a decades-old mystery that still threatens to destroy the Cavanaugh family. The brothers are desperate to find the culprit behind the death of their sister, and they put Emily at risk as they draw closer to the truth. Wright provides a dramatic wrapup to her fast-paced series. Her warm characters, who cherish family above all else, are the rightful heart of this adventure. Steamy passion and fierce loyalty blend and clash to keep tensions high throughout.

Where have all the cowboys gone? River Black,Texas
WOW! I never imagined that cowboys could be so hot and there was something this good from Texas! I feel in love with the Cavanaugh brothers right away. Deacon is again, a complex character and driven by his past. Then he runs into Mac, who is a force of nature all her own.
Laura created incredibly strong characters in both Deac and Mac, which drove the story and action. I loved both of them for different reasons.
Another component that made this story so compelling was how well the "supporting" characters were. She invested time in world building and creating compelling characters you WANT to learn more about and see again. I like there is an over arching storyline for Cass (someone I wish I could really meet) and for each of the brothers. I can't wait to see more of this world and move closer to solving the mystery.
