A Bewildering Read
Another interesting read, sort of confusing, wasn’t sure what the plot was between the main characters of Drake and Madison, their story was left sort of unfinished sounding, but a lot happening with other characters. I appreciated and the different character points of view and was surprised by how many there was. It almost felt like the supposed main characters of this book were more like background noise.
Madison Marie is adjusting to her new life in Esterious, rebelling against the norm while fighting to make a difference with a reign she wishes to introduce to a condemned world. Madison Marie is still the ever curious and determinedly obsessed deep thinker she is, searching through lore gaining knowledge to predict her next move, with an interesting message from Beth, the search begins to understand the meaning of it. The romance between Drake and Madison Marie is scarcely touched upon as his attention is once again divide and directed at another soul, making their relationship seem awkward and forced as their connection seems to grow in distance.
Zander is a newly mentioned and introduced character with his storyline being epic, I enjoyed following his adventures to understanding his new dilemma and roots. They took such an awesome turn that I cannot wait to explore more of if ever given the opportunity, his given soulmate was extraordinary along with his lineage that I greatly appreciated and found satisfying.
Donalt was a surprised I didn’t expect to hear from in this book and was very confounded when learning his greatest secret, one I definitely wasn’t expecting. The allure and desires these characters feel for Willow is astounding, though I think I can understand Donalt’s reaction a little, his reaction to Willow was still alarming.
The reunion between the characters in this book and others in the sister series was hauntingly sad yet happy though it didn’t last nearly long enough, the connection was made and revealed.
Still not quite sure what was concluded, how the stories were left for all the characters seemed very unfinished. I don’t know what happened with Drake and Madison Marie, if they were sent back in time to a pivotal point that could be changed with the once ghastly fate being rewritten, or if Drake is somehow still trapped in a cast by Donalt’s requested barter to Zander during his awakening as an Oracle.
