Publisher Description
A wild Texas cowboy is about to meet his match in an ER nurse in this heartwarming romance from a USA Today bestseller, which includes a bonus novella from Annie Rains.
Ever since losing his best friend in a motorcycle accident, Taggart Baker wants to make every moment count. No dare is too dangerous, no adventure too crazy for this cowboy. But after one bad brush with the law, he realizes it's time to ditch his hooligan friends and grow up. Now he's running his own ranch next to the Longhorn Canyon spread in Texas. Still, no one would ever call him tame.
Nikki Grady has worked too hard for her RN license just to throw it away for some reckless cowboy who shows up in her emergency room after a barroom brawl. But she can't help being drawn to Tag's sense of humor and those crystal blue eyes. The more time they spend together, the more she sees his good heart. But just as Tag seems ready to settle down for good, his troubled past comes calling-and this time he won't be able to walk away so easily.
Includes the bonus novella A Wedding on Lavender Hill by Annie Rains: When an event planner is asked to create the perfect wedding in just three days, she must turn to the last person she wants to ask for help -- the infuriating owner of the house on the hilltop.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Brown's capable fourth Longhorn Canyon contemporary western romance (after Cowboy Brave) suggests that love can make even the baddest of bad boy cowboys want to settle down. In Longhorn Canyon, Tex., Tag Baker is starting up a ranch with his twin brother, Hud, and flirting with his sister Emily's best friend, Nikki Grady, an ER nurse. Nikki is intensely attracted to Tag and his sexy cowboy swagger, but unwilling to get too involved with Tag and become just another notch on his bedpost. Tag also seems to court danger, though he's trying to distance himself from his past association with a motorcycle gang, and he takes the lyrics of Tim McGraw's "Live Like You Were Dying" as advice. Still, Tag's kind and generous heart wins Nikki over, and she decides to take a chance on him. Sweet, sexy romance and a strong heroine elevate the story. Fans of romance series filled with small-town charm and a cast of supportive family and friends will appreciate this installment and seek out earlier ones.

Personal Review
Taggart Baker is the exact definition of a rebel cowboy. He is just recovering from losing his best friend Duke in a motorcycle accident. He also lives his life by the song "Live Like You're Dying" by Tim McGraw. He knows that he was stupid when he was younger and he tries every way possible to put the past behind him but when Billy Tom finds out that Tag Baker will no longer be a part of his team he gets mad and kidnaps Nikki. Nikki can't afford to be with someone who is doing illegal stuff and will jeopardize her nursing career. Tag knows that after he has to stop his childish ways and begin to grow up. With the help of his twin brother Hudson Baker, these two cowboys now bought a ranch and have things they need to take care of. Tag ends up needing stitches after he had got his hand cut open by a broken beer bottle that was thrown at him at the bar. Nikki works long hours at the hospital and throughout the book she is trying to tell herself that she can't afford to have her nursing career take from her. The past is the past and all she can do is focus on the future. Tag and Nikki spend time after time together and as she spends time with his family, Emily Baker is her best friend and she can't keep things from her best friend.
Emily has now gotten married and just moved into her new house with Justin. Nikki gets pulled into the family when she has a conversation with Emily about how she knows if the man is right for her. Nikki has her own apartment and minds her own business but when she catches on that something isn't right... she will do anything in her will to find out what is missing. As she talks to her mom and finds out that she was just a mistake, her mother Wilma has hidden some valuable information from her and has done things to upset her daughter. But after reading cards, letters, and notes.... she figures that her dad that had left is now trying to come back in her life. That her dad does care about her and will her dad want to meet her again now that she is grown up and out of her moms house? Read the book to find out what happens next?!
Nikki and Tag know that they love each other. Tag has never said I love you to anyone but he sure means it when he says it to Nikki. Nikki told him that she would have a relationship with him if he did somethings. Read the book to find out what those are!
