This domestic thriller messes with our understanding of how well we can truly know someone else. Dear Wife’s switchbacking plot revolves around two women: one who’s disappeared and one who’s reinvented herself and skipped town to flee an abusive marriage. But which woman is which? We weren’t sure until the book’s last sneaky twist. Kimberly Belle, author of the bestseller The Marriage Lie, keeps us guessing, alternating the perspective between a character named Beth; Jeffrey, the husband of a missing woman; and Marcus, an Arkansas detective trying to figure out what on earth is going on. Belle has a flair for quick and sassy first-person narration—her writing style is as sharp as her characters.

Good read
This book was decent. I got a little lost towards the end when one of the chapter takes a plot twist and different approach out of the blue. I had to read a few pages to understand it, but once I realized what was happening, it had me completely surprised & intrigued to see how the end would play out. The ending was sweet & had good closure. Not as suspenseful as I was hoping for, more of a mystery. I like being on the edge of my seat for thriller books. This one was pretty mild.

Run-of-the-mill thriller. You can see the twist coming a mile away. I'll forget I read it by tomorrow.
