Deeper Than the Ocean

Book four in the Deep Six series includes Wolf and Chrissy. Chrissy owns a charter service out of Key West. She brings divers who would like to help find the treasure of the Santa Cristina. She and Wolf started as friends getting ready to move into that relationship stage when something happened. We finally find out what happened. Mr Green with Envy, aka Wolf totally misread something and deserves a tattoo that reads something like : dumb male on board. Chrissy however is living her life trying to avoid all the mistakes her mother made and thus isn’t really living.

Agreeing to meet Wolf for dinner in Key West, Chrissy and her partner Winston cut through a deserted area on the wharf and are both shot. Chrissy manages to get to Wolf for help. There are two more attempts on Chrissy’s live that are easily explained. While Wolf stays w Chrissy partial in protection, Chrissy suggests they become friends with benefits after Wolf let’s a big surprise out.

Common sense tells us this plan is definitely going to backfire in her face.

I am enjoying this series, however, I just wish there were more digging for treasure happening. The first chapter and last chapter has the ship wrecked victims doing more work with the treasure than these ex-Navy Seals are doing. This is the only reason why I do not give these books a five star rating. The romance of each couple is excellent. All are so different from one another but so compatible. Two books to go with Romeo and Doc left plus the treasure waiting to be found.

What do you do when the woman you've fallen in love with says she's never going to fall in love? Do you give up on her or do you try to change her mind? And what is wrong with falling in love? Doesn't it happen to everyone at some point?

Wolf and Chrissy are a perfect pair, but after watching her mom fall in love, marry and then divorce multiple

times, she has no trust in falling in love. Does she trust men? I'm not sure. Maybe a select few. Winston is her best friend and business partner and she trusts him. And you will see that deep down she trusts Wolf. i think she is scared of love because she saw what it did to her mother. And deep down, everyone of those men became a father figure to her and then they just left her.

Wolf was raised in a strong family and he is looking for a love like what his parents have. He thinks he has found it with Chrissy, if he can just change her mind about falling in love. When mayhem abounds, he's the one there to save her, protect her, take care of her and love her. Will that be enough?

And will the Deep Six team ever find the motherlode from the Santa Cristina?

I absolutely love this series and Julie Ann Walker. Her books are my go-to reads anytime I need something I know it great! This book is no exception. I love the chemistry and banter between Chrissy and Wolf. Smoking hot times and action round out the story well. I can’t wait for her next book. Now I need to go back and start at the beginning of this series…again!! Or reread all the Black Knight series.
