thrilling.
read this in one sitting. towards the end, it was a little obvious, but the suspense was amazing nevertheless. i was on the edge of my seat the whole time playing a guessing game of “whodunnit”.
It was hard to decide between 3 or 4 stars, so I land at 3.5
3.5 stars! I would have done more but I guessed who the trouble person would be, mainly because I’ve seen the movie “The Usual Suspects.” If I hadn’t guessed who the person would be, and the reveal isn’t even until the last 25 pages or so- I’d have given it a solid 4 stars for the book grabbing my attention early on and being a quick & easy read. This would be perfect for a day at the beach or something, when you just need to read a quick thriller.
The story follows a girl named Mira who needs to get home for the holidays, when a terrible snow storm rolls through the airport. The girl who sat next to Mira on the plane has offered for Mira to take a ride, with her and three other strangers. Mira decides that this would get her home in the fastest possible time, but it is just one terrible thing after the other when the ride home proves to be a ride from my nightmares. Is the culprit in the car with them, or is the culprit someone else? Or could it potentially be paranoia that started up when one thing went wrong, that can be passed on to the others? Only one way to find out!
