After dinner Sarah retired to her room to read and rest. Robert had told her that he would not visit her on this first night in the Manor so she took advantage of the evening and went to bed early.


She was startled awake by a hand grabbing her wrist, roughly raising her arm above her had and fastening what must have been a shackle around it.
