Publisher Description
Jerry Knight’s ex taught her one important lesson: never lose your heart to a man. They mess with your career and they screw with your sanity. These days, Jerry’s too busy saving the world to get ensnared in a relationship anyway, but there’s nothing wrong with a one-night stand. Unless of course you bump into a hit squad while doing the walk of shame…
Cole Gallagher’s ex taught him one important lesson: never lose your heart to a woman. They tear you up from the inside out. These days, Cole’s too busy trying to rescue Uncle Mike’s failing casino to consider another entanglement, at least until he crosses paths with a certain enigmatic brunette. Would a little one-night stand really be so dangerous?
Jerry doesn’t do rest and she doesn’t do relaxation, but when a stroke of bad luck leaves her in San Gallicano with nothing to do but Cole, she’s forced outside her comfort zone. Weeks of downtime. It’s her worst nightmare.
Fortunately, some new acquaintances decide to liven up the trip, and Jerry soon finds herself in a game of cat and mouse with the criminals of the Caribbean. Cole isn’t quite so happy about the situation, but who cares? He’s nothing more than a pretty face and a little light entertainment. Isn’t he?
Hard Luck is an action-packed romantic suspense novel with plenty of dark humour and a morally grey girl squad. No cliffhanger!
Customer Reviews
Couldn’t put it down!
Very enjoyable story line, suspense and romance. Definitely rooted for Cole and Bella’s relationship
Twisty
Love the twists and turns, but then Elise’s books are always great! She’s been my favorite author since I found Pitch Black, I literally can’t get enough. Perfect balance of sexy, death and the best part is always a great story to go with it 💜
Fast-paced, entertaining, adventurous.
The Choir is undoubtedly an intriguing and captivating team. Seven highly skilled girls and a mysterious team leader form a deadly and tight special ops team. They are unconventional in their methods, often surprising their enemies with their unorthodox tactics. They are ruthless with the bad, showing no mercy to those who deserve their wrath. However, they are also big-hearted with the victims, always striving to protect the innocent and bring justice to the oppressed.
The Choir's members take center stage in the latest of Ms. Noble's novels, breathing life into a fast-paced, multi-threaded story that grips and entertains the reader from start to finish.
Part of the story is set in St. Gallicano, an imaginary archipelago in the Caribbean. The exotic setting, with its lush tropical landscapes and crystal-clear waters, adds to the story's appeal. It excites a longing feeling in the reader, transporting them to a place of beauty and adventure. Overall, Hard Luck is a delightful book that warms up any cold and gray winter day and transports the reader to a sunny and magical place, a reminder of summer, sun, sea, and happiness.
