Publisher Description
FBI Agent Atlee Pine’s harrowing search for her long-lost sister Mercy reaches a boiling point in this breakneck thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author David Baldacci.
For her entire life, FBI agent Atlee Pine has been searching for her twin sister, Mercy, who was abducted at the age of six and never seen again. Mercy’s disappearance left behind a damaged family that later shattered beyond repair when Atlee’s parents inexplicably abandoned her.
Now, after a perilous investigation that nearly proved fatal, Atlee has finally discovered not only the reason behind her parents’ abandonment and Mercy’s kidnapping, but also the most promising breakthrough yet: proof that Mercy survived her abduction and then escaped her captors many years ago.
Though Atlee is tantalizingly close to her family at last, the final leg of her long road to Mercy will be the most treacherous yet. Mercy left at least one dead body behind before fleeing her captors years before. Atlee has no idea if her sister is still alive, and if so, how she has been surviving all this time. When the truth is finally revealed, Atlee Pine will face the greatest danger yet, and it may well cost her everything.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Fearless FBI agent Atlee Pine continues the search for her long-missing twin sister in the fourth and final installment of David Baldacci’s action-packed series. Atlee’s twin sister—the Mercy of the title—was abducted when the girls were six, but Baldacci’s heroine is convinced she’s still alive. Looking for Mercy proves difficult and dangerous, though, as too many people have reasons to keep the motives for her disappearance buried. Baldacci builds the tension with skilled confidence as a master criminal sets his sights on revenge—with Atlee in the crosshairs. Even if you haven’t been following the series, this high-powered thriller stands alone. It’s an exciting and suspenseful cat-and-mouse game.
Customer Reviews
Mercy
Emotional read, both high and low.
Boring
Bring back Will Robie. So tired of the same thing from Baldacci on either Amos Decker or Atlee Pine. What made Baldacci great was his variety of series & characters that were written & dialogued with passion; he’s lost that and today just goes through the motions releasing sub par after sub par after sub par novels all from the same 2 series’. Sad, he’s let some of the greatest characters & storylines die out even though they’re the reason he’s a household name.
Save your money
Reads like very bad TV. I’ve read the others in this series but 100 pages into this one I couldn’t care less how it ends. Save your money get it from the library and return it before you finish 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
