A beautiful story
The title and cover are perfect for this third Mystic Creek novel, set in central Oregon, and I loved the writing and the story. Ben Sterling is a dream come true and could not be a better person to pursue Sissy Sue Bentley. She intrigues him through the way she is able to independently run the cafe Cauldron on her own, yet he is aware of how guarded she is towards men in general. He wonders what happened in her past to make her so skittish and intends to find out. From taking in the September mulberry moon to an amazing day trip to the waterfalls in Crystal Falls where blue butterflies gather, the scenery is breathtakingly portrayed and healing on its own. The animals add a lot of humor to the story, especially the chickens. Ben's eight-month old puppy, Finnegan, plays a loyal role in both his and Sissy's lives. The family that surrounds Ben, especially his parents, are just plain wonderful and caring. The whole town looks out for each other, and what better setting than inside a cafe where more and more people gather to eat and visit with each other. This can definitely be read as a standalone, but backtracking to Silver Thaw and New Leaf afterwards would be a big plus, so that you can read two of Ben's other siblings' stories. I look forward to more stories and will try to be patient while waiting for the next one, although I am ready for another one now.
A Sweet Romance

Mulberry Moon is a sweet story with so many moments that had me laughing over and over again (especially the scene about the dildos.) Sissy is strong willed and independent, but also has her own complicated and terrible past. Ben is every woman's dream man, well at least mine. A sexy family man who loves animals and is honest, loyal, and an all around good man. Even though I enjoyed the story and the characters, it was too slow paced for me to give it more than 3-stars.
Awful
Just awful, don't waste your money. I can't imagine how others gave it FIVE stars! Slow moving story, no depth or background to the main characters... frustrating to read. I kept trying to read it b/c I spent money on it but I couldn't even finish. Waste of time. I've never written a bad review but this one needed it
