It started out as a mating of convenience, but the bond between them is too strong to resist...
He wants to claim his mate, but this female is hard to catch.
Maya Osborn has had a lot of heartache in her life, and she isn't in the market for any more. Especially not from a Polar Bear Shifter who speaks before he thinks.
With her step-mother recently married, Maya is suddenly in charge of their florist shop and she finds herself in over her head. It seems someone has taken out a loan in the business' name and the bank wants its money or else she will lose everything. Who can she turn to for help in her time of need?
Tonic Nanouk has been lusting after Maya since the day he landed in Barvale, New Jersey from his small Alaska Clan. He knew in his heart that the small female was his fated mate, but so far she's been resistant to his charm. Okay, so he was a little rough around the edges, but what did a Bear have to do to get some attention around here?
When Maya gets into financial trouble, Tonic offers her a way out. It's his one chance to show her they might be polar compounds, but together their bond is stronger than anything. Will she take a chance on him?
Find out in this next installment of the Barvale Clan Tales.

Better and better!! Love this series!
Gorri keeps hitting these home runs! Every book she puts out is a masterpiece! I loved this story so much! Maya was such a complex woman! The way she carried herself and the way she expressed herself just had me bonding with her character. She was such a sweet soul. Loyal, smart, yet wounded and very lonely even though she had a very good best friend. She has faced so much hardship and pain and this book was filled with even more challenges for her. I’m so happy to read how she overcame them. It’s very hard to overcome loneliness and to overcome the sadness from being hated and being on the outside looking in. Being ostracized. Sighs, it’s something that I myself am facing and it hits so close to home. So Maya and I have a sort of kinship and this is just another way that Gorri brings out her characters. She writes so well that readers have no choice but to bond with these characters because they are so real. Their pains, their dreams, their wants and goals. It’s like they’re real people. It’s a profound experience and if you’re not ready for that then be forewarned before point up a C.D. Gorri book. Tonic, the big lug made so many mistakes... after all he’s not purrfect right? I found myself smacking my forehead saying you dolt!! But hindsight is 20/20. I do know I would have handled things differently but in the end it worked out because together they both met their feelings, fears and wants head on and you can’t ask for more in a relationship. So much happened in this book it’s insane. I want to say so much but I don’t want to spoil it. This book was simply amazing. The world building is always 10/10, chemistry between the characters was like nuclear fission happening for the first time. I felt like I was working on the Manhattan Project. Bolder’s book is next and Lordy I cannot wait for that. Will not say anything further because that will be a spoiler. But my oh my it’s going to be a real corker! Grab this bear series ASAP! Start reading them! They’re amazing! I can’t even give this book stars! They get comets! 5 of them! ☄️☄️☄️☄️☄️ I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
