Price of Valor

The Price of Valor starts out exciting and mysterious, which I loved, but also depressing because of the ruined marriage between Signe and Ham. It felt hard to continue reading past the first chapter until it got more upbeat in the second chapter with a marriage proposal. After that, I finished the book very quickly because of the intriguing plot and mysterious clues.

There are a lot of ups and downs with several relationships in this novel. It made it more interesting to see realistic fears and worries about each person’s romantic feelings.

THE PRICE OF VALOR (Global Search and Rescue Book #3) is a seriously loaded High Intensity Drama! Author Susan May Warren closes out this Series with a no holds barred adventure where the stakes are higher than anyone even dares to imagine! One of the main features I like about Warren’s writing is that she seamlessly includes characters from her past Series into this one and how well they interact with each other. In some cases, they may have served as SEALS together, or worked in some other branch of Law Enforcement or the CIA, or be a sibling of one of the characters or a significant other to one of the characters. The plot of this novel centers around Former Navy SEAL Hamilton Jones and whether or not the love of his life is dead. Her name is Signe Kincaid. To say they had a complicated relationship would be the understatement of all time! They started out as best friends when they were just kids. Each of them found themselves in difficult living situations because of their dysfunctional families. Each of them have ended up serving the government — him as an aforementioned Navy SEAL and unbeknownst to him, she was working undercover for the CIA. She had very mysteriously disappeared from his life and while most everyone thought she was dead, he felt deep in his soul that she was alive and needing to be rescued. The biggest clue to her survival had been when they found a ten year old girl that had survived a horrific boat explosion. She had information on her stating that she was Navy SEAL Hamilton Jones’ daughter. Their seemed to be no evidence of Signe’s death so Ham is haunted with tracking her down. Signe was captured by rebels while serving in the Ukraine. She had been feeding Russian intel to her CIA handler. She feared for her daughter’s life so she devised a plan to get her safely to Ham. Now Signe is in the most danger she has ever been in her life! Even the bravest man she knows cannot save her now! Ham cannot shake the feeling that Signe is still alive somewhere. Here is where Warren takes readers on a Mission with Ham’s highly trained Team of Global Rescuers. They are involved in true spy games and no one knows who can be trusted. One piece of the U.S. Government’s most important data is at stake and National Security is at stake. The battle for this information is intense and epic. Ham just found out this ten year old girl Maggie was his, when Signe left her, with words don’t try to find me. Her misplaced ideals had cost her, the country versus the love of Ham. Raising her daughter in a terrorist’s camp, till a brief moment, she was able to slip Maggie to him. A good conclusion for the series, showing learning to trust and forgiveness
