Riding Steele: Crossroads by Opal Carew is the fifth part of her new six-part serial Riding Steele. Riding Steele will be released as a full length novel in early 2015 as book 3 in her Ready To Ride series.
Crossroads picks up right where Wanted left off...
Donovan lured Laurie to a police department by claiming to drop the charges he filed against her for "stealing" the necklace he actually gave her as an anniversary gift. She meets with an officer that Killer has vouched for and gives hm the necklace. He confirms the charges are dropped and she leaves to walk the block or two to the diner where her ride is waiting on her. Of course this is the point in the tale where everything goes to hell in a hand-basket.
Donovan has arranged for Laurie to be snatched out from under the crews noses and they take her away to one of his vacation villas where he has some very nefarious plans in store for her. Donovan is sadistic and evil and no longer has any need to pretend to be anything other than his true self.
Will the crew be able to find her? If they do will it be in time? Before Donovan violates that which is no longer his?
His words and his gentle touch, made her want him with a desperation that dug deep into her soul.
