Once upon a time there was a very bad boy…
Ethan Jagger will do anything to leave his illicit past behind and take his place as a gentleman in Society. Success is within his grasp until his boss discovers his double cross and frames him for murder. As if running from the law and the outlaws weren’t bad enough, he must protect an innocent young lady from the very cut-throats who want him dead. Worst of all, however, is the dangerous attraction that sparks between them.
Who met a very nice girl…
London only thinks of Audrey Cheswick as a wallflower—if they even think of her at all. She’s tried to find satisfaction—if not happiness—as a spinster-in-waiting, though her intrepid spirit yearns for a grand adventure. But when she runs away with England’s most wanted criminal, she learns adventure comes with a price—not just her reputation or her virtue, but her heart.

Great end to a wonderful series
Ethan Jagger, err Ethan Locke, is a man of many personas. Is he a criminal genius or a charming gentleman? Can society accept both?
Audrey Cheswick is lives up to her wallflower status, always standing in the background at social events and happy to do so. Shy and not outspoken, she’s the voice of reason within her circle of friends. In her heart, she yearns for adventure and a life less ordinary.
After his latest brush with the law, Ethan is on the run. While trying to gather some of his secreted funds to finance his escape, he foils a kidnapping attempt of Audrey, who was to be used as leverage against him, and together they flee from London. Emotions run high, danger faces them at each turn, and together they discover their real passions.
As the final installment to the Secrets & Scandals Series, this was an incredible read and a satisfying conclusion to the series. Ethan is very much the bad boy, from a broken past, with a heart of gold. All he needs is a good woman to show him that he deserves love and kindness. The story is fast paced, full of adventure, and heart stopping drama. I loved every moment. It only saddened me to say goodbye to this ragtag group of friends.
What a scoundrel
Once again, a great book by Darcy. Action, adventure, tension, romance. Really enjoyed it.
