Publisher Description
An exciting cowboy novel from New York Times bestselling romance author Donna Grant!
Is he an enemy?
Dillon Young is proud that she inherited her aunt’s ranch. The problem: someone is trying to run her off and is willing to do whatever it takes. Strange, dangerous things keep happening. Dillion suspects her no-good neighbor and fellow wealthy rancher Hank Stephens. Never a man to get his hands dirty, he sends others to get the job done. So, when the irresistible Cal Bennett is found passed out drunk on her property, Dillion is on high alert. Until someone takes a shot at her and Cal springs to her rescue. When the hard-bodied, no-nonsense-talking cowboy points out that she may need some help, Dillion is inclined to reluctantly agree.
Or a lover?
Waking up on a stranger’s property with a shotgun in his face is not Cal Bennett’s idea of a good time. Never mind that the person on the other end of the barrel is one of the most fiercely beautiful women he has ever seen. Things get more interesting when he finds himself shielding her from flying bullets. It’s clear that this smart, savvy woman could use a hand and Cal is all too happy to lend any part of his body she requires. His proposal: pose as lovers until they find out who is after her ranch. As the danger rises and secrets are revealed, the passion explodes between them and there is no turning back.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
The twists and turns keep coming in this gripping standalone romance from Grant (My Fiery Valentine). Dillon Young inherits her aunt Dolly's ranch in Texas's Hill Country and decides to keep the property despite escalating offers from neighboring rancher, Hank Stephens. But as she settles in, "accidents" happen with increasing frequency, starting when her new prize stallion is stolen and ending when someone shoots at her. The incidents coincide with the arrival of handsome bull rider Cal Bennett, who wakes up hungover in Dillon's barn with no memory of how he got there. Despite this suspicious introduction and Cal's longtime connection to Hank, he quickly proves himself trustworthy. When local law enforcement is revealed to be in cahoots with the bad guys, it's down to Dillon, Cal, and a special agent from the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association to get to the bottom of what's going on. And as the threat intensifies, Cal suggest he and Dillon fake a relationship for her protection, sparking intense feelings. Grant keeps the plot rocketing along, capping with a stunning betrayal readers won't see coming. It's an un-put-downable ride.
Customer Reviews
Greed and romance
Greed is the powerful motivator that sets the stage in Donna Grant’s romantic thriller That Cowboy of Mine. As the intrigue unfolds, and the nefarious players are exposed, all the moving parts of the story become more complex and captivating. Ms Grant rules the genre when it comes to Cowboys and romance…her gift for creating unforgettable characters is unparalleled, her latest story is no different. Cal and Dillon are two such characters, along with becoming emotionally invested in the couple, there were the edge of your seat moments, when their lives appeared to be in peril, that definitely had me holding my breath in anticipation of the outcome. All very intense and page turning!

Cowboy ❤️
Mystery, danger and sexy romance! This story has all that and more as feisty ranch owner Dillion pairs up with hunky bull rider Cal to find the thief and save her ranch. After a less than auspicious first meeting Dillion and Cal settle into a fabulous relationship with an instant connection and chemistry. She hires Cal after her life was in danger and he saved her. Cal is a tracker with skills to track down her stolen horse. The culprit appears to be a neighbor with longtime ties to Cal. Hank appears to be the baddie but the real evil is another resident. I love this romantic couple as they work together to solve the mystery, save her ranch and bring down the bad guys while staying alive. Plus the sexy times when they grow close are sizzling. Yes! This is another terrific story by this outstanding author that delivers in her unique style with a divine hero, a wonderful heroine and a thrilling storyline. Loved it!
A Contemporary Cowboy Story
Once again, Donna Grant has written a story that leads you through intrigue and romance. I don’t know how she does it, but she continues to write books you can’t stop reading once you start. This book grabbed me from the first page and I had to keep reading to find out what would happen next, but I tell you what did was so unexpected but brilliant. You must read this cowboy book if you love a cowboy story with strong characters. Can’t wait for the her next book regardless of which series it comes from.
