The Bastard King

Ms. Grant does it again with a story that grabs you from the first page. While this story continues the Dragon saga, it is still a book you can read on its own. However, once you read it, you will want to read every other book this author has written. She has the talent to make you feel like you are part of the story. You will experience joy, sadness, anger and love through the pages. While the book is based on a fantasy world, the characters experience every emotion known to us and you can’t help but fall in love with some and take a dislike to others. It is a book you will want to finish once you begin reading. The talent Ms. Grant has to bring these characters to life, engage you in this world and overall enjoy her books is special.

Another entertaining read from Grant! Not huge on duologies; just give me one book, but I do really enjoy many of this author’s books. Through her multiple series, she has created a very interesting world of magic, danger, and excitement! Love the deep and passionate connections too. Good spice going on! Enjoy the dragon kings and the action! Like the setup of Derek being unaware of himself and who he has given his loyalty too; like when he begins to realize that he may need to shift his loyalties. Kora has vengeance on her mind and has trouble trusting anyone, but she’s in for more than she bargained for when she meets Derek. I didn’t fully love the characters or the start of their relationship, but overall, this story drew me in. Looking forward to the next book!
