The Conclusion to The Bastard Kind
This is the finale in The Bastard Duology. The first book entitled “The Bastard King” set the stage and story for Kora and Derek but ended in a cliffhanger and I eagerly awaited the second book (The Uncrowned King). I thoroughly enjoyed the first book and the chemistry between Kora and Derek but to be honest, it was unexpected to have the story end in a cliffhanger. I have been a fan of Ms. Grant for a very long time and to my knowledge she has never ended a book with a cliffhanger but there is always a first. Therefore, I so wanted the second book as soon as possible and Ms. Grant did not disappoint. The conclusion was everything I wanted and expected from Ms. Grant. The story captures you from the first words, the chemistry continues and the intrigue from the first book continues into the second one. You are introduced to new characters, visit old ones and you can’t help but feel like you are one of characters in the book. That is what Ms. Grant does, she makes you feel like you are part of the story as you read along. This book engaged many of my emotions. I laughed, cried, got excited and angry. The sad thing is that I had to finish the book in one sitting. Kudos to Ms. Grant for once again writing a story that captures your imagination, encompasses conflict and happy ever after.
The book only uploaded the first couple chapters and said a story was complete
