Publisher Description
Meet Augustus Berrycloth-Young—fop, flaneur, and Englishman abroad—as he chronicles the Jazz Age from his perch atop the city that never sleeps.
That is, until his old friend Thomas Nightingale arrives, pursuing a rather mysterious affair concerning an old saxophone—which will take Gussie from his warm bed, to the cold shores of Long Island, and down to the jazz clubs where music, magic, and madness haunt the shadows…

Excellent masquerade
It seems like Mr Aaronovich is stretching his creative muscles by writing pieces in other voices than our favorite modern London Bobby’s. In this one he takes the style of P. G. Wodehouse, of whom I’ve always been fond. But where Wodehouse ducked the gender ambiguity of his time, Ben embraces it and uses it to make a couple of characters who are as engaging as any I’ve read.
Bertie Wooster
As Ben had said somewhere, this is essentially a fanfic of PG Wodehouse’s work. Not the best work. Some of the characters are jumbled and the plot is not very well-defined. I’d waited eagerly for this novella and was disappointed. I understand that writing is hard work and hope the next work is up to the fine, enjoyable, well plotted standard. By far my favorite author and looking forward to the next book.
