Publisher Description
The enchanting and bloodthirsty sequel to the New York Times bestselling novel The Cruel Prince.
You must be strong enough to strike and strike and strike again without tiring.
The first lesson is to make yourself strong.
After the jaw-dropping revelation that Oak is the heir to Faerie, Jude must keep her brother safe. To do so, she has bound the wicked king, Cardan, to her, and made herself the power behind the throne. Navigating the constantly shifting political alliances of Faerie would be difficult enough if Cardan were easy to control. But he does everything in his power to humiliate and undermine her even as his fascination with her remains undiminished.
When it becomes all too clear that someone close to Jude means to betray her, threatening her own life and the lives of everyone she loves, Jude must uncover the traitor and fight her own complicated feelings for Cardan to maintain control as a mortal in a Faerie world.

Amazing 👌👌👌
The book starts slow but the end is epic I love this book so much💋💋💋💋
I need my energy and time back.
Genuinely hasn’t frustrated me more. I read the first book and was so disappointed and frustrated that I immediately got the second book. WHY IS THIS LABELED ROMANCE. THERE IS LITERALLY NOTHING ROMANTIC IN ANY OF THESE BOOKS.
**spoiler ahead**
Okay so I remember that one of the first people she murdered was that elf that tried to kill her and then she killed him and buried him in the stables yada yada. THE CURSE HE PUT ON HER ?? I still think about that!! Why has our mc forgotten about it!? Does it not matter?? Will it not work?? Cause he literally wished she’d die alone. Also she has like NOBODY ON HER SIDE FR OTHER THAN THE BOMB IG and maybe the Roach a little. Anyways I’m sick of everything. this was so frustrating. I can’t anymore. I’m so mad with the plot developments. And might I add once more THIS IS NOT A ROMANCEEE
THEY LITERALLY ARE JUST ENEMIES BFFR.
I FEEL LIKE THEY CAN NEVER TRUST EACHOTHER IF THEY KEEP BETRAYING EACHOTHER.
Genuinely my girl Jude needs to have figured out what she wants by now. I don’t think she does even after two books. Like I get she lives in this fairy land and it’s all she’s ever known but this is like toxic dude. LIKE GENUINELY the land is toxic for. This is unhealthy! (Also small tangent but literally props to Heather for leaving and standing on business)
Anyways I think the descriptions can be captivating but at some point the character’s motivations are confusing. I still don’t understand Jude’s relationship with Taryn. Jude seriously keeps saying she’s more sad that Taryn picked Locke over her but she literally doesn’t do anything when she first hears Taryn disguised herself as Jude!! The lack of communication in this book can send someone into cardiac arrest I swear.
Anyways this all my two cents so who cares! Have fun reading!
Great plot
The details that come into play are very crucial and make you truly think. The plot is well thought out with so many twists and turns. Only suggestion or thing that had me a bit off to not put 5 stars would be that the rules and key elements of how the land and such work is not r brought up until the moment it is needed. I feel the framework of the rules and creatures and such should be layer outright and dragged in for what ever necessary and not brought up mid event and never explained.
