As war erupts among the stars, Kira is launched into a galaxy-spanning odyssey of discovery and transformation. First contact isn't at all what she imagined, and events push her to the very limits of what it means to be human.

A Beautifully Written Sci-Fi Odyssey

To Sleep in a Sea of Stars is a beautifully written book. It tells the story of a woman who discovers proof of sentient beings on a planet her team is preparing for colonization by humans. After her discovery, she is thrust into a whole new world where she must ultimately save the universe from destruction.

The story is dense and there is a lot to get through, but it is also a fascinating world created by beloved fantasy writer Christopher Paolini. The characters are interesting and diverse and the journey they embark on is one that will stick with me for years to come.

This novel has everything you want in an epic novel: adventure, fun and interesting characters, emotional depth, and gorgeously written prose.

Paolini’s best work

Very few books keep me glued to the pages like this one did. Exciting from start to finish.

Great Read

The beginning and ending is excellent, the middle part follows a pretty standard and predictable plot flow; however it is still really good.

This has turned out to be one of my favorite science fiction books I have read.
