Good for beginners
I was very excited to read the reviews of this book because of the comparison to Cormac McCarthy, but this book didn’t even make it out of the gate in comparison. Twi Journeys either needed a better editor or a better translator. The sentence structures are so short and so obviously decorated with words that don’t match the author’s style that the writing is very stilted and perfunctory at best. Two stars for the effort of fleshing out an idea. Unfortunately, it’s clear that the author probably didn’t do much research—maybe went through the motions of camping while pretending to be a prepper—and characters are too shallow to be saved, even if the writing were beyond a 3rd grade level.
gripping tale
This is a gripping thriller that certainly gained my attention quickly and would not let me put the book down. I love dystopian books and this one is fantastic. I hope for more from this author.
