Omg yesss!!!!! It is such an amazing book probably the best of the series. I love it but I was hoping there would be a bit more story in it but otherwise it was great! I loved the SoKeefe memories, btw, I NEED SOKEEFE TO HAPPEN!!!!! Read this book you will love it. The cliffhanger tho was so just UGHHHHH!!!! How could you do this Shannon!?!?!?!? Anyway great book!
BACK THE T REX UP!!
First let me say I’m a die hard fan. DIE HARD. I’ve even got an alter ego and a bodyguard made up for this series.
Second: quiz results are: five bodyguards, and a gorgodon. Post your results I’m dying to hear!
But this book...there’s about 700 pages and only 100 tell a story.
And it’s a horrible story.
Not only was it very boring and sad, it was written like a Fanfiction! I’ve written mystery novels better then this! None of the characters acted like themselves and NONE IF THE VILLAINS APPEARED.
You can’t have a story without an antagonist. I’m sorry.
Why was Alina being nice? What is Fintan doing? WHY DO WE CARE ABOUT CRUSHES? And why is the Oralie-Sophie thing a big deal?? Oralie’s her mom. Big deal. You saw it coming in Legacy (another horrible installment).
If you ask me, the real story ends at Nightfall and These others are just bad dreams (they’re awful books ok?)
I own the book and I finished the actual story under an hour.
The only parts that didn’t bore me to tears (literally) were; Keefe’s file, the personality quizzes, and the recipes.
Which lets be honest you can literally Google “KOTLC mallowmelt recipe” or go to a fan site and take a KOTLC personality quiz! Or make your own Keefe fanfiction!
Also what’s with all the cliffhangers? Instead of excitement they instill depression because it usually involves someone running away or dying or being kidnapped.
Can we please just ONCE read a book where a problem appears and in THE SAME BOOK the problem is resolved?
With Fintan there was always a different story but with Gisela it’s predictable.
In a summery book 8.5 is SO AWFUL that I have tossed the series aside and am confident that I will not touch it until I get through the depressing (based on 8.5) chore of reading book 9.
Also do we need all the stupid romance junk??? This is an action novel I’d like to keep it that way...you could make books 7–8.5 a WHOLE lot better if you cut the romance scenes and replaced them with action sequences...I’m kinda sick of all the crushes it slows the plot too much and I’m like “what is the point of this I really don’t care.”
Its okay I guess.
When it said 8.5 I knew it wasn’t going to be a full book but im still disappointed in how short it is. Though I love how you finally show what everyone looks like! I also love how you switch between Sophie and Keefe because its cool to see things from Keefes perspective. And its kinda obvious Keefe loves Sophie, and Fitz is just...no. The story part was pretty good, though that cliffhanger, I might die from, like why Keefe why. And I also can’t believe we have to wait till November!
