New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author DIANE CAPRI Returns with another Judge Willa Carson Thriller!
For fans of Lee Child, John Grisham, Jack Reacher and Michael Connelly
"Full of thrills and tension - but smart and human too." —Lee Child , #1 World Wide Bestselling Author of Jack Reacher Thrillers
Judge Willa Carson’s mother Kate Austin’s new husband, a hot Italian model, lures Willa into investigating a thirty-year old murder. When no-nonsense Federal Judge Wilhelmina Carson is presented with the facts of the case she’s convinced that Billie Jo Steam is innocent.
Determined to right the wrongs of a justice system in which she believes, and to please Kate no matter what, Willa pulls out all the stops, including the use of genetic testing and her most distinguished political connections, to give Billie Jo back her family and her freedom.
But there isn’t much time to celebrate…
The deeper Willa delves into this timeworn case and the complex relationships that surround it, the more she realizes that there are still many people in Tampa — from pillars of the community, to old hippies, to friends and co-workers — who will do whatever it takes to keep the past buried. Judge Willa stays on the long, cold trail until truth prevails at the very end of the road and Kate makes a killing.

Hunt for justice
Pretty good story as expected by this author. Like other Willa stories there is tons of description based narrative and not enough actual dialogue for my preferences. Her frustration with the trial needn’t have taken so much space as while it tells about her thinking, so much wasn’t necessary. Endings by this author leave me wondering if she gets sick of the book so while a very long slow build it all just suddenly wraps up and you are done. I like the remembrances from 60s-70s. A few items left unresolved so probably they carry into the next one but it was annoying to not have answers
Intense, edgy, great -- another mystery of Judge Willa Carson! Worth the price of $5.99. It can be read as a Stand-A-Lone eBook. I felt it helped that I read Diane Capri's first book, which was surprisingly free. Both have some of the same characters in them. Characters are well described. And, one does not have to read this series in any particular order.
I like this eBook the best so far. The main plot was not about Willa's family. From the beginning, the story caught and held my interest! And, kept me reading for long periods of time. Details of the judicial system is interesting throughout the story. 🐰🐰🐰
Enjoyed. May read another, time permitting.
