HOW DO YOU FIND WHERE YOU'RE GOING, IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU'RE FROM?
Angie has always wanted to travel. But at twenty-seven, she has barely stepped outside the small mining town where she was born. Instead, she discovers the world through stories told to her by passing travellers, dreaming that one day she'll see it all for herself.
When her grandmother passes away, leaving Angie with no remaining family, she is ready to start her own adventures. Then she finds a letter revealing the address of the father she never knew, and realises instantly where her journey must begin: Italy.
As Angie sets out to find the truth – about her family, her past and who she really is – will mysterious and reckless Italian Alessandro help guide the way?

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Paige Toon’s Inside Story: “If You Could Go Anywhere was probably the hardest novel to write. The amount of research I had to do just for the first 20,000 words was enormous—I didn’t get to go to Coober Pedy, in Australia, where some of the novel is set, and I had to do a lot of research about Alzheimer’s, because the lead character Angie’s grandmother suffers from it. Doing so much research meant that it was really hard to get stuck into the writing, and I found that really painful. Once I finally got it off the ground, I flew through this book and actually ended up delivering it early. It’s one that I’m really proud of, because it’s very dark, and I love getting to the bottom of what those issues are.”

Loved it
One of my favourite novels hands down.
Dull, predictable and inconsistent
I just feel like the author tried to cram too many things into this story. So slow to start. If Coober Pedy is so boring it’s probably not a good idea to situate the first chapters of a book there. Found the plot dull and predictable for about 3/4 of the book and then predictable and incredibly over dramatic at the last minute. I’m all for a plot twist but this felt like the author decided to just crowbar in drama at the eleventh hour in the vain attempt of creating some interest. The complete lack of build-up just meant that it didn’t work at all. The climax of the book is predictable, rushed and left me feeling disappointed. ⚠️SPOILER⚠️ Also found it weird that the two love interests of this story share a sibling. Gave me the ick.
Captivating
It took me a couple of chapters to really get into this book but once I did I was gone....couldn’t put it down and could have read on and on. Such a moving and heartbreaking read. I loves this book!
