Loved it. Great start to some new characters
Macon Miles is a solider who lost his leg in battle and soon after his father and his wife. He has always been the son who followed the rules. Unlike his brother Adam Miles who broke them all. Macon betrayed his brother's trust and has since been estranged from him. So when Miles is lost and alone wallowing in his own self-pity Adam is the last person he expects to pull him out of the darkness. His brother offers him a new life, a way to begin again. Macon has recently grown to love cooking and having a job at Top doing what he loves is more than he could ask for. More than he thinks he deserves.

A tragic accident at Top brings these two lost souls together. When secrets come to light can the betrayals be forgotten? When the truth is told can true love win out in the end?
As always Lexi Blake does an excellent job of writing a full and deep story. I love that she found a way to continue more Masters and Mercenaries stories through a little bit of a different avenue. She is using Sean Taggarts new restaurant as a backdrop for romance. Macon is Adam's brother and their brotherly bond renewed brought me to tears. Ally is a sweet strong woman, looking for answers but found a love of a life time as well. Macon and Ally's chemistry was unstoppable, it was inevitable that they end up together.
You can read this book without reading the others in the series but I highly recommend reading the whole series. I am a huge Lexi Blake fan and will always read anything she writes.
Disappointing
Feels like the author phoned it in or had her secretary write two thirds of the book. Wooden. Plotless. Boring.
