Publisher Description
Two warriors butt heads and fall in love as they save the world in this romantic adventure by the New York Times–bestselling author of The Unleashing
Stieg Engstrom, Angriest Viking Ever, has got big problems. The human Viking Clans of earth are in danger of being obliterated—along with the rest of the world—and the only one who may be able to save them is a super pain-in-the-ass Crow. Most people annoy Stieg, but this is the one woman he really can’t stand . . .
Erin Amsel loves being a Crow! Why wouldn’t she when the other Viking Clans are so hilariously arrogant and humorless? She’s not about to let all that come to an end! She just didn’t expect to be shoulder to shoulder in battle with Stieg. Then again, he’s so easy to torment—and also kind of cute.
With the future of the world riding on them, Stieg knows he’ll have to put aside his desperate need to kiss the smirk right off Erin’s face. Wait. What? He didn’t mean that—did he? No!They have one goal: To conquer the idiots. Because nothing bugs Stieg more than when idiots win. If only he can keep himself from suddenly acting like one . . .

“Jam-packed with humor, sex, action, snark, outrageous characters, and sheer insanity, Laurenston has created another paranormal world that just screams F.U.N.” —Smexy Books
“The blend of screwball romance, mythological mayhem, and all-out action is as enjoyable as ever, wrapping up the three-book arc in a satisfying manner.” —Publishers Weekly
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
In Laurenston's third Call of Crows urban fantasy (after The Undoing), preventing the end of the world unites two unlikely allies. Long-forgotten Norse goddess Gullveig is determined to bring about Ragnarok. To stop her, the quarreling clans of god-empowered warriors have to work together despite centuries of feuding. For pyrokinetic Crow Erin Amsel and no-nonsense Raven Steig Engstrom, this is easier said than done; he considers her "the most irritating, frustrating, rude, ridiculous woman the gods had ever placed on earth," an assessment she's happy to support. Nevertheless, their partnership proves effective as they track down Gullveig's worshippers and travel across the Nine Realms to find the one weapon capable of killing their foe, battling giants and confronting gods along the way, but neither of them knows what to do about the attraction brewing between them. As usual, Laurenston's story is outrageously bawdy, her characters are unabashedly foul-mouthed and unrestrained, and her comedic timing is on point. The blend of screwball romance, mythological mayhem, and all-out action is as enjoyable as ever, wrapping up the three-book arc in a satisfying manner.
Customer Reviews
Great battles
I really enjoyed it. There were slow parts for me, but the battles were amazing. Erin and Steig were actually great together. Had doubts, but they showed a different side of themselves to each other, and still remained the individuals we knew. Some reviewers find Erin unlikable. Really she is extremely loyal to her sister Crows and very brave. Never faltered, even when she was scared. I liked that about her. Shifters had a different role in this book. In the end, it was a very fun read.
Ok
This was very good and some very interesting and fun and terrifying scenes but it dragged in a lot of parts. It kept my attention in sections and then lost me.
Erin and Stieg’s relationship was fun and Erin was such a shi% most of the time it was comical.
This series is worth the read there’s just a lot of characters to keep up with.
